 Biomarkers

Aging is a highly individual process which requires the intelligent analysis and interpretation of a wide range of physiological, biological and mental indicators in order to draw reasonable conclusions about the health of the individual. This broad health measurement approach has been adopted by Inner-Age with their Biological Age Measurement System, a software package that captures the results from clinical, blood and urine tests to determine a biological age for the patient.

The Inner-Age system provides a set of markers of aging, ‘biomarkers’, that can be used to repeatedly measure the biological age and aging-rate of an adult. The biological age describes the age of a person relative to others in a sample and provides a comparison to the patients chronological age.

The above figure provides a visulization of DHEAS vs Age, and shows the relationship between the result (DHEAS ug/dL) and age.

The Inner-Age medical panel identified the following biomarkers from over 2000 medical studies.

Full biomarkers are classified as markers that:

  1. Can be used to determine the biological age of a patient.
  2. Are the results of human clinical assessment.
  3. Are based on a significant representative sample.
  4. Result in a clear association with aging.
  5. Result in a relatively narrow standard deviation.
  6. Are supported by multiple complementary research studies.
  7. Are available across the chronological ages of 30 to 70.

The biomarkers captured, recorded and assessed by the current Inner-Age System are as follows: (Unless marked, biomarkers are for male and female):

  1. Albumin
  2. Blood pressure- pulse
  3. Blood pressure- systolic
  4. Caries index
  5. Creatinine clearance
  6. Cholesterol Total (female)
  7. DHEA-S
  8. Fibrinogen
  9. Hair baldness (male)
  10. Hair grayness
  11. Handgrip strength- strongest hand
  1. Hemoglobin A1C
  2. Lung capacity- FEV1
  3. Lung capacity- FVC
  4. Near vision
  5. Noradrenaline- plasma (male)
  6. Peridontal index
  7. Skin elasticity
  8. Testosterone free (male)
  9. Testosterone total (male)
  10. Zinc- serum
